Chuck Rock is a great example of graphics and game integration for the Atari ST. Not only does it have an engaging intro, but the actual gameplay graphics are also far above most.
No pixelated images, flashing image generation. Just smooth scrolling game backgrounds with an engaging player image. No, Chuck can't compare with today's hi resolution game characters, but his movements and action related images make the game the cartoonish gem that it is.
The premise: Chuck's in front of his TV, drinking can after can of his favorite drink while watching his favorite sport, footrock. But all is not well in rockland, or whatever you want to call it. Out in the backyard, his beautiful wife, Ophelia Rock is hanging up the wash on their clothesline. But the local 'weirdo' Gary Gritter is up to no good. He sneaks up on Ophelia and renders her unconscious before, caveman style, he drags her away. Chuck hears the commotion and runs outside to save her! Donning the necessary leaf undies, he rushes into the dangerous world to save the love of his life. Leaving his house unarmed, he only has his prodigious stomach and an occasion jump kick to fight off a number of dangerous foes through five levels of prehistoric opponents, including a number of level bosses.
